Seven Dates to Remember
Week of April 11 Pentecost Sunday campaign Launch Service...
Preparation is the key to a great Pentecost Sunday Launch Service. The more people of the church who participate in the preparation, the more excitement and anticipation there will be in the Launch Service and in the entire Pentecost Sunday campaign. "Ownership" is a great key to motivation and success. To prepare:
n Pray: There is no doubt that God has plans and goals for you and your church. Lead the church in much prayer for Pentecost Sunday.
n Set Goals. Meet with all the church leaders and set goals for attendance, for number of guests, for number you would like to receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized.
n Get people on the team. The Launch Service should be exciting, informative and motivational. A "rally" atmosphere should prevail, with a challenge to commitment and a celebration of that commitment.
n Unity. Jesus said that His mission was to, "...Seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). We are uniting with Jesus and with one another to carry out His commission.
Present the plan and motivate and enlist church members to:
n Pray 20 minutes each day for revival from now to Pentecost Sunday n Fast 20 meals between now and Pentecost Sunday for revival n Invite 20 people to the Pentecost Sunday revival n Teach one Home Bible Study between now and Pentecost Sunday n Bring at least one guest on Pentecost Sunday Week of April 18 Prayer and Promotion...
Begin Praying the Book Acts Over Your City (Download link is located at the bottom of section). Your church can pray at least 3 cycles of 10 days each, leading up to Pentecost Sunday (May 23). Optional: If you desire to pray 5 cycles (50 days total) you may start the first cycle on Easter Sunday. In this instance, Easter Sunday is "Day 1" and Pentecost Sunday is "Day 50." Emphasize getting family members to church on this Sunday.
May 2 Youth Sunday
Emphasize getting youth to church on this Sunday
and streamline the service to youth.
Emphasize getting your neighbors out on this Sunday.
Place a special emphasis on the Mothers that are present.
Emphasize getting coworkers and associates to church on this Sunday.
May 23 Pentecost Sunday
Emphasize everyone bringing a friend that has received a home Bible Study.
